Over the past several years, OSHA has said they are interested in changing their regulatory requirements on Lead. On June 28, 2022 they started the rulemaking process required to make this change. At this stage, OSHA is simply gathering information and seeking input, but it will likely progress into a proposed rule at some point. Specifically, OSHA is considering lowering the Permissible Exposure Limit, the “blood lead level” allowed before medical removal, and medical surveillance provisions.
